Delta Airlines
Delta Airlines is a US based airline company. Delta flies both domestic and
international, servicing a large number of airports within the USA. It has
the IATA call code DL.
The company has its roots in Huff Daland Dusters, which was founded in 1924,
and through a number of mergers and acquisitions became the company it is
today.
Delta operates Hartsfield International Airport as its chief hub, as well as
hubs in Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport in Covington,
Kentucky, near Cincinnati, Ohio and Salt Lake City International Airport in
Salt Lake City, Utah.
Delta is based in Atlanta, Georgia, where it moved its headquarters in 1941.
Delta Airlines currently employ more than 60000 people, and services 428
cities in 76 countries. Among the cities and places they serve: Luis Munoz
Marin International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, various destinations
in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, Chatrapati Shivaji
International Airport in Mumbai, India, many European cities, Guarulhos
International Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Narita, Japan's New Tokyo
International Airport (nearby Tokyo, Japan)
Delta is part of the Skyteam alliance, and codeshares with SNCF French Rail
to rail stations in France.

* Delta was named official airline to Disney World in 1985.
* A crash of a Delta Lockheed L-1011 in Dallas in 1985, was the objective
of a television movie.
* It is rumored that a Delta Airlines plane that landed in Cincinatti
would have been the fifth jetliner hijacked on September 11, 2001.
According to the rumors, a muslim passenger in the flight was arrested
while carrying a knive and sharp objects. The same rumors also say the
passenger was later found to have ties to Al qaeda.
* Boxer Felix Trinidad was pictured aboard the cockpit of a Delta
jetliner after it landed in San Juan, upon return from his fight
against Oscar De La Hoya.
